Please read this carefully. It explains what The Australian Senior Survival Playbook is, what it isn’t, and the terms on which it is provided. By reading the book or using this website, you accept this Disclaimer.
The Australian Senior Survival Playbook and this website provide factual and general information for educational purposes. They are designed to help older Australians and their families understand the Age Pension, super, tax, concessions and aged care in plain English, and to point them toward the right forms, offices and questions to ask.
Nothing in the book or on this website is financial product advice, tax advice, legal advice or personal advice, and none of it takes into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. The author and publisher do not hold an Australian financial services licence, are not registered tax agents, lawyers or financial advisers, and do not recommend any financial product, super fund or provider. Nothing here creates any professional, advisory or fiduciary relationship. Before acting, consider whether the information is right for you and consider getting advice from a licensed professional. The free Financial Information Service (132 300) can help you understand your options.
Pension rates change on 20 March and 20 September, many thresholds change on 1 July, and rules can change by new law. Every figure reflects pension rates from 20 September 2026 and 2026–27 thresholds as of October 2026 to the best of careful research, but figures can change without notice, and some concessions vary by state or territory. Before making any decision, confirm the current details with Services Australia, the ATO, your super fund, My Aged Care or a licensed professional. All examples are illustrative only, and your own results depend on your individual circumstances.
We do not warrant or guarantee that you will qualify for any payment, card, concession or benefit, or obtain any particular amount or result. Eligibility and outcomes depend on your personal circumstances, the rules in force, and decisions made by government bodies and other organisations over which we have no control.
To the extent permitted by law, the book and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that the information is error-free, complete, or current.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author, publisher, and their affiliates will not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind — including any loss of money, pension, savings, data, or opportunity — arising out of or in connection with your use of, or reliance on, the book or this website. Nothing here excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
You are responsible for how you use this information and for verifying it before acting. Any action you take based on the book or this website is taken at your own risk.
This is an independent educational resource. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Services Australia, Centrelink, the Australian Taxation Office, the Department of Social Services, the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, any state or territory government, or any super fund, and we receive no payment or commission from any of them. All program names, forms, websites, and phone numbers mentioned are public information.
Services Australia, the ATO and myGov will never send you a text or email with a link asking you to log in, and never ask for payment in gift cards or cryptocurrency. If someone contacts you claiming to be from a government agency — or claiming to be us — and asks for personal information, your login, or payment, don’t respond; contact the agency on a number you find yourself, and report it to Scamwatch.
Support for your purchase is handled through Gumroad, the platform that processes and delivers the book. For any question about your order, use the receipt or order page from your Gumroad purchase.
